Persuasive Proposal

Re Need for GPS Navigators to keep Hotel Guests on course

I am writing this memorandum in order to propose the usage of GPS navigators in our hotel so that our guests will enjoy the convenience of having a device that will take them to locations of well-known establishments around the hotels vicinity and will also enable them to return to the hotel safely. This idea is derived from the current program that is being used by the Rosewood chain of hotels wherein they make use of the said device, hand held GPS navigator, to assist guests in navigating through the business and commercial districts surrounding the hotel. At present, four of the Rosewood hotels are utilizing the GPS device and these are The Carlyle in Manhattan, The Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, and Hotel Crescent Court also in Dallas. According to reports, the Rosewood management provides free usage of GPS device to their customer whenever they want to find a specific restaurant or business office and it is actually the duty of the concierge personnel to locate the destination on the GPS, an event that will render the device to talk to the guests during the travel.

In line with this event,  I propose that we explore the idea of modifying the aforementioned program and tailor it according to the capabilities of our hotel and based on the needs of our customer. My team will gather all the necessary information for this project and will be very glad to present it to you and to the other stock holders during a board meeting. I really believe that this project, once pushed through, well give us an undeniable advantage over our competitors and will bring us to the list of pioneer hotels to introduce the GPS navigator.

Financially speaking, my team believes that purchasing Garmin iQue M3 GPS navigator, the device that I recommend for our hotels usage, will not cause excessive budget deficit for our business because each device is only worth 330. Each Garmin iQue M3 GPS navigator kit comes with  USM synchronization cable, AC wall charger, automotive windshield mount with integrated charger, metal stylus, protective flip cover, quick reference guide, MapSource City Select, and a companion CD or DVD (Mobilewhack, 2005). Despite of the several parts, the Garmin GPS device is still a sleek, light weight Pocket PC material that boasts an easy-to-use series of navigation software, an automatic route calculation to any destination, and a voice-prompt which directs the traveler to the appropriate direction (Mobilewhack, 2005). The availability of this device in our hotel will undeniably boost our popularity and will attract more customers. Effects may not be visible in the first few months but will eventually result to noticeable changes in the hotels income in a longitudinal perspective. It is deemed that the satisfaction of the initial guests with the navigator service will keep them from admitting to other hotels, an event that will create a list of exclusive customers for our business. Furthermore, these people are likely to share their experience with their workmates or peers which in turn will result to an healthy network of hotel guests. The positive effects for our business are numerous and all we have to do is take a bold act today so that we can enjoy the outcome in the future. This may sound to be a very risky decision but we are in the era characterized of dynamism and constant innovations. Hence, our management must seek ways to bring about changes in the hotels services to ensure the constant flow of income, Undeniably, offering GPS navigator to our guests is one of these managerial milestone. Lastly, I hope that the ideas laid on this memorandum are enough for my team to be given a chance to formally present his proposal in a business meeting.

Thank you for imparting your time with us.
